Manage > Also create global OWL Properties
------------------------------------------

This feature is available from the :ref:`ManageTab` of Ontology asset collections.
If activated then creating a new SHACL property shape will also produce an
``owl:DatatypeProperty`` or ``owl:ObjectProperty``.

.. note::
   SHACL does not require or encourage the use of global property axioms including
   OWL property definitions.
   Keeping declarations in both languages in synch is often a problem.

An alternative to using this feature is to create ontologies using SHACL only and then,
when interoperability with OWL is needed, use :ref:`Export_ExportOntologyAsOWLFile`.
